What You See Is What You Get!

I think about Joseph’s journey in the book of Genesis. Joseph was sold as a slave to the Egyptians. Yet despite his unfortunate encounter, God gave Joseph such wisdom and ability that he made Pharoah prosper. As a result, Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of all his possessions.

However we sometimes forget Joseph’s journey to this place of destiny and purpose. He had a dream from God, was sold into slavery by the closest people to him, his brothers, then later falsely accused of rape and thrown into prison. Despite all of this, he had favour and prospered. Joseph never allowed the external circumstances to mould his internal state of peace nor steal the promises of God from him. He used his internal state of peace as well as remaining steadfast to shape the external circumstances he found himself in.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 1:2-4.

Jesus and His Word are one. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. As long as we hold onto His truths and not the enemies lies, then we set ourselves up to prosper. However, prospering starts with our soul. That is our mindwill and emotions.

When the writer talks about us prospering, he means for us to be carried toward our destinies and promises of God, to have favour upon us, to succeed as well as increase in all areas of our lives. This is true in all areas of our life.

What does the Word of God, the truth say about marriage, family, relationships, health, and finances? We need to align our mind, will and emotions to these truths, nothing else. We can only prosper in proportion to the level our soul is prospering.

“Create an image of what you want to see and then act as if.” – Cindy Trimm.

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7

The Youngs Literal Translations (YLT) says it like this; “For as he hath thought in his soul, so [is] he”

Our thoughts, feelings and will, become like a janitor, or doorkeeper if you like. They are what determines what comes in, takes root, and alters the internal state of our soul and the level at which we prosper internally resulting externally.

“If you think you can or think you can’t, you are right” – Henry Ford

“What Dominates your attention, determines your direction.”

Watch out for triggers and cycles that affect your thinking and emotions negatively. Don’t camp out in the negative zone or in the place of lies from satan. Make a decision to use the negative emotions, to warn you that adjustments are required.

Adjustments to your thinking as well as emotions. It’s ok to talk about your pain and struggles. However, you want to be able to move past these into a state of internal prospering which in time leads to external prospering in all areas of your life.

God desires you to prosper in all areas. So, make a decision, nothing and nobody will hold me back from prospering the way God intended me to do.

I leave you with one more thought. Psalm 35:27 says God delights in our prosperity. Psalms 115:14 says: “May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children.”

God desires you to prosper so that He can move beyond you and bless the next generation. Let us not rob the next generation from a prosperous life because we were stuck in old mind sets, wrong thinking and ruled by our emotions.
