A Lasting Legacy: “Building beyond walls”

This past Sunday, we had a Sneak Peak into the Vision of Faith Legacy Believers Church, both long-term and required adjustments for 2025. Our Theme for the year is “Building Beyond Walls.”

We asked the following Questions: What is the Church? Who is the Church? Where is the Church? We identified that there had been confusion between the Church and the Assembly of the Saints throughout the Christian religion.

The Church Is more than just a physical structure! It’s a people that are being built up into the image of Christ!  Ultimately, the Church is not just where you go—it’s who you are individually, and we are corporate.

A reminder of our vision:

“To leave a GODLY LEGACY through FAITH, BRINGING HOPE through LOVE.”

What is the Legacy that can be left to the Next Generation:

Faith: Knowing the Promises and Character of God!

Hope: Knowing the Love of God.

An Environment: No financial burdens and a place to encounter the presence of God corporately.

“Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your fame, O LORD, throughout all generations.” Psalms 135:13

“A staircase is climbed tread by tread!  So, too, is a vision built, day by day, moment by moment,  decision upon decision, partner by partner.”

– Shaun Smit.

A Kingdom Vision is built through Faithfulness, partnership and from Generation upon Generation.

As Albert Einstein once said, “Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.”

The Story of the Roast and the Tray:

A young woman was preparing a roast for dinner, and as she always did,  she cut off the ends of the roast before placing it in the pan.  Her partner, curious, asked, “Why do you cut off the ends of the roast?”

The woman replied, “I’m not sure, but that’s how my mother always did it.” Later, when they visited her mother, the young woman asked, “Mom, why do we cut off the ends of the roast before cooking it?”

Her mother thought for a moment and said, “I’m not entirely sure. It’s just the way your grandmother always did it.” Determined to get to the bottom of this, they both visited the grandmother.

When they asked her why she cut the ends off the roast, she chuckled and said, “Oh, I used to do that because my roasting pan was too small to fit the whole roast!”

The point is, just because things have always been done a certain way or have been in a location for some time doesn’t mean they’re right or necessary for the season we are in.

A series of questions revealed that no one lived in the same house they were born in. The reason for this was a change of Seasons, Circumstances, and generally a change of Needs as time passed.

“When the winds of change blow, remember… sometimes what appears dead is simply preparing for a new season.” — Jane Lee Logan

A Prophetic Picture of seasons can be observed in a tree. A tree experiences Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer, and in each season, it appears to be different. In winter, it appears dead on the outside, yet it is still rooted and connected to the ground, preparing for the next season. So are our lives individually and corporately and a Church gathering.

1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: 2 A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; 3 A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; 7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; 8 A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

It’s a New Season!  We’re moving to a new location!

8 Reasons Why.

  1. Adjustment for the Bigger Picture!
  2. Lord said not building.
  3. Current lease Cost.
  4. High Maintenance.
  5. Outdated Audio and Visual Equipment.
  6. Stewardship: Facilities over expenditure
  7. Building Maintenance Capital Investment required
  8. Limitation of Visibility & Parking

Multiple supernatural Events, confirmations and evidence of favour led us to this decision. This decision helps Position us as a church to Invest in real-impact areas focused on God’s people, not a building, which helps us leave a Lasting Legacy of Faith.

This move will enhance and empower us to continue in Our Mission:

“We ASPIRE as a CHURCH FAMILY to make OVERCOMERS, locally and globally, by creating a LOVING environment, whereby they are INSPIRED, EMPOWERED and SUPPORTED to walk out of their DESTINY.

“The Church is not just a place we go, it is who we are.” – Craig Groeschell.

7 So then neither he who plants is anything nor waters, but God who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it." 1 Corinthians 3:7-10

This is a summary reminder for all: We are God’s Building, each generation builds upon the next and we each are to take heed of how we are building upon it — your reward is determined by how you bring your part…

As we move into a new season I feel a word that Chelsea Hagen released is for us as a Church but also for the greater body.

Prophetic Word: Chelsea Hagen

“I heard the Lord say this so clearly to the body of Christ. He has heard the striking of the ground, the hunger and the prayers, but what he has been waiting for is for us to strike the ground with unity.

It is there God will command the blessing But while the body immaturely continues to attack itself, we can’t walk in the fullness of what God has for his bride.

Psalm 133:1  A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Psalm 133:2  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

Psalm 133:3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

None of us can carry it all. We all need each other. We need every body part working and functioning as God intended, edifying itself in love. Now is the time, saints, to lay down the stones, the judgements, and the offences, the petty differences with each other so you can be unshackled to step into the fulness of your call.

Start striking the ground in unity, in love for one another, in forgiveness, in repentance, in reconciliation, in restoration, and you watch the outrageous blessing God will pour out when we strike the ground together with unity!

Let us Faith Legacy Believers Church, as an assembly of saints, strike the ground in unity as we move into a new season in expectation and by faith ready to see what God will do amongst us!
